Eight injured as ‘unwell driver’ ploughs into pedestrians outside Amsterdam Central train station

EIGHT people have been injured after a car ploughed into pedestrians in Amsterdam last night.
Police rushed to arrest the driver after the vehicle reportedly smashed into a wall outside Amsterdam's central train station on Saturday night.
Police have said that the motorist had been parked in a restricted zone when they were approached by authorities, with the driver quickly fleeing.
As the car drove off, it slammed into harmless bystanders.
The motorist was arrested, with police reporting it was only after the arrest that the man appeared to be unwell.
Amsterdam police said there was “no indication whatsoever” that the incident in the Dutch capital was an extremist attack.
Police spokeswoman Marjolein Koek said: “There is no indication whatsoever that this is a terrorist attack.”
