The cruise season will kick off May Four, with a demonstrating of American Graffiti at the Palace Theatre. The showcase with begin at seven p.m. and tickets are $Five, with proceeds benefiting the Monday Night Cruise.

Schrader said the film is “a joy movie if you are an old car enthusiast.”

He said similar to the movie, before urban renewal hit Lockport, “everybody drove up and down from Ida Fritz Park to the hospital.”

He said if you had a car to showcase off you drove back and forward and if you didn’t, many sat on the steps of the YMCA, watching.

The following Monday on May 11, the kick-off cruise will take place. Each week cruises take place from six to nine p.m. There is no registration fee to display a classic or custom-built car, truck or motorcycle. Those wishing to display a car should arrive inbetween Five:30 and six p.m. each week.

Schrader said via the cruises, each week will suggest something different for people to love. There will also be entertainment, including the Hot Country Liners Dance Team on Country Night. The CRS Band is scheduled to perform, and on 50s Night, Elvis Wade will be a fresh addition.

At each cruise there will also be hot dogs, hamburgers, ice juices and more available for purchase. Schrader said puny business vendors are still wished for the cruise nights. He said if they wish to serve food, they attempt not to dual up, so it would need to be a unique item. The city also gave permission to the cruise to have a beer vendor.

Schrader said anyone wishing to be a vendor must have the decent licenses and permits.
