Nigel Farage ASSASSINATION attempt: UKIP leader coerced to run for life after car sabotaged
Farage had been driving his Volvo V70 when the incident took place
The UKIP leader was driving home from Brussels when the wheel of his Volvo fell off – forcing him to scramble over a wall to escape an oncoming lorry.
Police later told the shaken Farage that his car had been intentionally tampered with, leading to fears that an attempt had been made on his life.
But the unflappable UKIP leader said: «The way my life`s been, nothing surprises me.»
The road was limited to two lanes because of roadworks, making the situation even more dangerous for the UKIP leader.

«It was the middle of bloody nowhere, and I was caught in a very bad position
«I abruptly realised I was losing steering but there was no hard shoulder to pull on to.
«I slowed down, put the hazards on and then one of the wheels came off.
«I hopped over the wall as quickly as I bloody well could to get away from lorries and everything.»
Farage asked police not to pursue the investiagtion
But before long it became clear that the dramatic event was no accident.
Mr Farage said: «The French police looked at it and said that sometimes nuts on one wheel can come a bit liberate – but not on all four.»
The incident – which Farage has kept under wraps – took place last October.
But the UKIP leader did not call for police to look into the case, telling he didn`t want to «make anything of it».
He added: «The French police and mechanics looked at it but I have made no formal report in this country.

«The mechanics were absolutely certain of [foul play] but I have determined to take no further activity.»
When asked if people had made threats on his life before, Farage said: «Of course. It`s not a particularly effortless game, this.»
This is not the very first time Farage has been caught in a life menacing situation.
The UKIP leader suffered violated ribs and bruised lungs after surviving a plane crash in 2010.
He was pulled from the crushed cockpit after an election banner packaged itself around the light aircraft.
