Our applications to join the 2017-18 UWashington Formula Motorsports Team are open!

If you’re looking for a way to help you get some forearms on engineering practice, this could be a good option for you. We have eight different technical teams that you could be a part of. So no matter what your major is, there is somewhere for you to fit in!

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at [email protected]

Washington Formula Motorsports designs, builds, and races two petite formula-style cars; one combustion and one electrical. The team produces world-class engineers through a commitment to learning and hands-on practice.

We are sad to say that our car was incapable to finish the stamina event at FSG. After setting excellent times for the very first few laps, the car was coerced to come to a stop due to an unfortunate “thermal event”. Gratefully our driver Rodney Linton securely egressed the car without injury.

Our muffler configuration worked fine for passing sound, but it shows up to have had some more major flaws (such as catching fire unexpectedly).

Thank you to everyone who has helped us attend FSG this year, and we’re sorry that we won’t be coming home with the trophy that we’d hoped for. Despite this loss, the team has gained much from attending FSG this year, and at least we can claim to have gone out with a BANG!

It’s now day five of competition at FSG, and so far our spectacle has been very good overall!

In business we placed 15th with a score of 60.79 out of a possible 75.

We are disappointed to announce that the team did not make the design finals (top five teams), but we’re hoping to have placed very and are still waiting to hear our official score.

The cost event went much better than our spectacle last year, but scores have yet to be posted.

In the skidpad event yesterday we put down a quick time of 6.09 despite utterly rainy conditions which gives us a placement close to 10th.

Today we drove in acceleration with a respectable time of Four.54 seconds, and finished autocross with a prompt time of 71.47 (putting us around 5th place as of now).

We will do our best to keep updating you with scores as they become available. To view published scores, please visit the FSG results page.
