2018 Mazda three to suggest automatic emergency braking as standard – NY Daily News

Mazda to standardize automatic emergency braking across all trim levels of two thousand eighteen Mazda Trio

Mazda’s compact Mazda three sedan and 5-door hatchback are already famous for their combination of sporty driving dynamics and exceptional value. Now, for the two thousand eighteen model year, Mazda improves upon its winning formula by making the automaker’s Brainy City Brake Support automatic emergency braking system standard across all trim levels.

Clever City Brake Support works via laser sensors mounted to the windshield, which automatically apply the brakes when an object or vehicle is detected in front of the vehicle in low-speed situations of less than eighteen mph. Drivers get a warning to brake very first and if they fail to do so in time, the system intervenes to apply the brakes itself.

This technology in the refreshed two thousand seventeen Mazda three was only available on the mid-level “Touring” and highest “Grand Touring” trim level, without an option to add it to the base “Sport” trim package. The system helped the two thousand seventeen Mazda three score a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

After a refresh in 2017, the two thousand eighteen model year welcomes Mazda’s Brainy City Brake Support system as standard, helping stop the vehicle in low-speed situations when the driver cannot react in time.

All two thousand eighteen Mazda three models, as they did in 2017, will include Mazda’s special G-Vectoring Control system, which controls the amount of power sent to the wheels to help drivers negotiate turns with more confidence and control.

Other goodies the two thousand eighteen model year Mazda three will receive include Bluetooth connectivity with nine hundred eleven automatic emergency notification, Mazda’s 7-inch infotainment touchscreen and rearview camera.

Stepping up to the “Touring” level, the two thousand eighteen Mazda three offers advanced blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers and pollen filter air conditioning. On the top-of-the-line “Grand Touring” trim level, everything on the “Touring” level is included, plus leather-wrapped steering wheel, a full-color head-up display, and power-sliding moonroof.

The two thousand eighteen Mazda Trio’s standard AEB system is hopefully the beginning of Mazda’s transition toward standardizing advanced safety technology across its entire lineup.

With automakers such as Toyota and Nissan now suggesting advanced safety technology across their entire lineup of cars as standard, Mazda – along with the rest of the industry – must adapt to stay competitive, as they plan to standardize this technology by 2022.

The two thousand eighteen Mazda three – already on sale in certain parts of the country – will be available nationwide by the end of this month, commencing at $Legitimate,095.
