2017 Audi Q5 Officially Unveiled At Paris Motor Display
Audi, the German automaker has eventually unveiled the much-awaited fresh generation two thousand seventeen Audi Q5 SUV at the two thousand sixteen Paris Motor Display. This five-seater luxury crossover competes against the fresh BMW X3, Mercedes Benz GLC and the Jaguar F-Pace. Very first launched in 2008, the fresh Q5 SUV gets more upmarket and refined than the previous generation.
Paris Debut – The SUV made its global debut at the two thousand sixteen Paris Motor Showcase. With the fresh two thousand seventeen model year, the Q5 SUV has entered into its 2nd generation. The vehicle gets familiar design treatment and shares design cues from the larger Q7. It features angular chrome grille and LED headlamps.
Launch – The two thousand seventeen Audi Q5 will go on sale in the European markets in early two thousand seventeen while the India launch is expected in the 2nd half of 2017. The SUV will be launched in the North American markets towards the end of next year.
Price – The current generation Q5 is priced in the range of Rs 48.44 lakh to Rs 55.44 lakh. We expect that the next model will be expensive than the previous car. It is likely to be priced around Rs fifty two lakh for base model and Rs sixty lakh for the top-end model. The thickest switch in the two thousand seventeen Audi Q5 will be mechanical. The 2nd generation SUV will be based on the 2nd generation Modular Longitudinal Matrix platform. Also known as ‘MLB Evo’, this versatile platform also underpins the fresh Audi A4 and the Bentley Bentayga.
Design – The Q5 SUV go through an evolutionary design, and gets sharper and more angular. The two thousand seventeen Audi Q5 has been designed along the lines of the larger Q7 model, but it retain the familiar character lines. It features narrow headlamps & hexagonal grille, fresh LED taillamps and fresh alloy wheels. The top-end model has Matrix LED headlamps, with Audi’s dynamic turn signals. On sides, the SUV gets prominent crease that runs along the length of the car, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, blackened glass area with chrome door sills, etc.
Interior – The cabin of the SUV shares most of its components with the A4 and the Q7. The two thousand seventeen Audi Q5 gets Audi’s virtual cockpit fully digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch high-resolution display, 8.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MMI navigation, Qi wireless charging, Android Auto, all-new dashboard and Bang & Olufsen Sound System.
Engine Specs – Mechanically, the fresh Q5 SUV is expected to remain unchanged. The vehicle is likely to feature the same Two.0-litre TDI diesel engine that also powers the A4 sedan. This engine is capable of producing 174bhp and 380Nm of torque. Observing the growing request for petrol cars, Audi could also introduce the SUV with a Two.0-litre TSI petrol engine. Transmission choices are likely to include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed tiptronic.
Hybrid In Works – Audi is also working on a hybrid version of the Audi Q5, which is likely to be launched in two thousand eighteen internationally. The hybrid powertrain will comprise of Two.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 252bhp and a 109bhp electrified motor.
